20. RNG Encounter
In the middle of the night, Tyler moves through the Raydown Forest towards the Moonlit Peaks.
He is suddenly attacked by a group of hostile creatures, half-human, half-beast. He is unarmed, and his only chance of salvation is to flee: he starts running as fast as he can.
Out of breath, Tyler spots an old barn, takes refuge in it, and closes the heavy door.
He catches his breath as the creatures violently pound on the door. With a sinister crack, the wood gives way and the monsters pounce on the young man.
Tyler wakes up abruptly. The night is calm in the Flatwaters' barn.
Backstage
The title of this track is a nod to the world of video games. "RNG" is the abbreviation for "Random Number Generator." It refers to the randomly triggered battles found in many "old school" RPG ("role-playing games".)
