25. Brothers
As Tyler approaches Irina to greet her, a man climbs the path leading from the lake to the village center and also arrives at the square.
Scott is breathless when he sees his younger brother. He stops abruptly, then starts running while shouting:
"Tyler?!?"
Tyler spots Scott running towards him and can't hold back his tears. He feels his legs about to give out, throws himself into his brother's arms, and sobs softly...
"I was so afraid I'd never see you again..."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Scott cannot respond. Their silent embrace seems to last an eternity.
After greeting the matriarchs, the Becker brothers set out on the small path that leads down from the village to the family home by the lake.
Scott, once again silent, struggles to realize that he is walking alongside his younger brother whom he thought lost forever.
Everything is racing through Tyler's mind. Images of the Mantra island come back to him, as well as those that have been replaying in his dreams since he woke up. He stops, looks at the lake, then at his brother, seems to want to say something, but nothing comes out. Everything feels confusing, almost unreal.
For a few minutes, Irina remains motionless, staring at the Becker brothers as they walk away from the village toward the lake.
She turns around and retraces her steps. Still smiling, she begins to hum in an almost inaudible voice...
"Young Tyler is back in Lienwood;
Here we found our newest Lostblood.
Scott's mother was right;
A Lostblood is back."
