4. Wrong Path
The exit from the underground opens into the heart of the jungle. The density of the forest makes any attempt at navigation difficult. Moreover, during the expedition to the temple, Tyler had not paid much attention to the route taken by Bright's men.
An ancient dirt path, seemingly rarely used, crosses the jungle. The young man decides to follow it.
After an endless journey, Tyler spots in the distance an imposing dune of white sand, suggesting that the sea is not far away. It is probably his only hope of salvation. Yet, he does not remember seeing such a dune when the crew of the Vengeance traveled the route between the dock and the temple.
He continues his path toward the dune, deciding to go around it. It takes him an hour to cover the distance and finally discover the sea, as well as a modest coastal village.
Below his position, in the village, Tyler sees a group of people looking in his direction. They do not seem hostile. He is no longer alone. Exhausted, he decides to descend the dune and meet them.
Backstage
The soundscape at the very beginning of the track relies largely on two homemade field recordings: cicadas recorded in the southeast of France, as well as birds and rain recorded in the Sarthe region.
